Alfred Wainwright's Guides
The first books of Wainwright Walks were the seven volumes of the Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. These published in what has become well known as Wainwright's distinctive style including sketches and hand-drawn maps with hand-written text. Many of his later books on the other hand included colour photographs and were frequently in larger format.
